Supported Employment Services

 

Supported employment; employment and career assistance; and job search assistance is available to adult job seekers with disabilities.  JFVS specializes in working with persons with traumatic brain injuries, developmental disabilities and mental health/psychiatric disabilities.  JFVS is a provider for the NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVRS) and the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).

  • Long-term follow-along

 

Jewish Family and Vocational Service of Middlesex County (JFVS), Joel Gensler Career Center was awarded a grant through the Kessler Foundation’s Community Employment Grant Program.  The program, Veteran Employment Services, will provide military veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI) job seeking assistance.

Available services will include:

  • Assistance with job search
  • Resume and cover letter development
  • Career exploration
  • Social media networking
  • Interview preparation
  • Computer literacy classes

Services will be individualized to best meet the needs of the jobseeker. The employment specialist will collaborate and network with employers to help assist jobseeker with finding a suitable employment that matches the individuals strengths.

JFVS also offers School-to-Work Transition services, which provides supported assistance with accessing supported employment and/or community work experience for high school special education students. Services offered are transition planning, consultation, career interest assessment, access to community work experiences, and supported employment services.
